Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about Velko, the native IPTV player for Apple TV.
What is Velko?
Velko is a native IPTV player for Apple TV. You bring your own IPTV service — an Xtream Codes login or an M3U playlist — and Velko turns it into a fast, beautiful tvOS experience with a real TV guide, instant channel zapping, movies and series, and universal search. Velko is a player, not a provider: it includes no channels of its own.
Is Velko free? How much does it cost?
Velko is free to download. Community TV is free without any time limits. Watching your own provider has a 15-minute free preview per channel; Velko Pro unlocks unlimited viewing for $2.99/month or $24.99/year (each with a 7-day free trial), or a one-time $39.99 Lifetime purchase.
Does Velko work with Xtream Codes and M3U playlists?
Yes. You can sign in with Xtream Codes (server URL, username, and password) or paste any M3U / M3U8 playlist URL. Save multiple sources as profiles and switch between them instantly — no signing out.
What is Community TV?
Community TV is an optional, one-tap source that loads free, publicly available channels from the open-source iptv-org project — no account needed, free without any time limits. It's a great way to try Velko before connecting your own provider. Velko doesn't host or control this content; availability varies by region.
Does Velko have a TV guide (EPG)?
Yes — a classic, fast TV guide with a full EPG: what's on now and next, the full schedule, channel logos, and live now-playing progress.
Which devices does Velko support?
Velko is built for Apple TV and requires tvOS 17 or later. It isn't currently available on iPhone or iPad.
Is Velko private? Does it track me?
The Velko app has no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. Your provider credentials are stored only on your device in the system Keychain and sent only to your provider. Favorites and settings sync through your own private iCloud, not Velko servers. (This marketing website uses basic Google Analytics for aggregate traffic.)
Can I pause live TV?
Yes. Pause a live channel, resume where you left off, and jump back to the live edge when you're ready. If a stream hiccups or times out, Velko reconnects automatically.
Does Velko include or sell any channels?
No. Velko is a media player only. All channels, movies, and series come from the provider you connect; Velko does not host, provide, or sell any content.
Is there a TiViMate for Apple TV?
No — TiViMate is an Android / Fire TV app and isn't available on Apple TV (tvOS). Velko is a native Apple TV IPTV player that works with the same Xtream Codes and M3U services, so it's a natural choice if you're moving to Apple TV and want a fast, guide-first experience. Is Velko a good alternative to IPTV Smarters?
If you find IPTV Smarters cluttered or ad-heavy, yes. Velko is a fully native Apple TV player focused on a clean, fast TV guide, instant channel zapping, and privacy — no accounts and no tracking — using the same Xtream or M3U source you already have. How does Velko compare to UHF?
UHF is another well-regarded native Apple TV player, and both let you bring your own IPTV provider. Velko's focus is a classic, fast TV-guide (EPG) experience, one-tap free Community TV to get started without an account, privacy by design, and a one-time Lifetime unlock alongside the subscription. Both are good — try each and pick the feel you prefer. Full breakdown: Velko vs UHF vs IPTVX.
